A Hard-Fought Field Hockey Loss to Division I #1 Seed

Field Hockey- CHC 0, Trinity Episcopal 1

Cape Henry traveled to Trinity Episcopal on Friday night to take on Division I’s top team, and with a 1-0 loss to the Titans, the Dolphins proved they can compete with any program. The Dolphins relied heavily on strong midfield and defensive play throughout the night, as the Dolphins thwarted numerous attacks while unfortunately unable to capitalize on the counter attacks. As the first half came to a close, the score remained tied at 0-0 after a defensive showcase on both ends prevented a single score throughout the 30-minute half. Entering the second half, both sides searched for the elusive first score of the night. With 19 minutes left in the game, the Titans found the back of the cage and took a 1-0 lead. The Dolphins stepped up the attacking intensity, but a talented Titans’ back line held Cape Henry scoreless for the full 60-minute game. The hard-fought loss to Trinity Episcopal brings the Dolphins’ record to 9-2 with the Dolphins set to travel to Nansemond Suffolk on Tuesday for a conference matchup with the Saints beginning at 4:00 pm.
