CHC Field Hockey: One of the Best All-Around Performances

Field Hockey- CHC 6, Steward 1

The Varsity Field Hockey team welcomed the Spartans from Steward School to the turf on Friday evening, with the Dolphins completing the fourth conference victory in one of the best all-around performances from the girls this year. The girls were off to a quick start, connecting a beautiful string of passes early before Ali Gordon ripped the ball into the back of the cage three minutes into the start of play. Five minutes later the Dolphins were on the board for the second score, once again, connecting passes through midfield where the Cameron Dodzik finished the shot on the post to bring the score to 2-0. As the girls continued to put on a passing clinic in the first half, Sadie Cohen joined the action with her first goal of the season 12 minutes into the first half, bringing the score to 3-0. The Spartans limited the Dolphins chances to score for the next nine minutes before Livy Wallace finished the transition from the midfield in the 21st minute. Livy Wallace was back on the board again, scoring her second in as many shots two minutes later to bring the game into halftime with the Dolphins leading 5-0. Early in the second half, Alexandra Land rounded out the Dolphin offense with her first goal and the Dolphins’ final score of the night. Steward picked up one score late in the second half, with the Dolphins routing the Spartans 6-1 with an elegant display of passing throughout the night. The Dolphins (9-1) will travel to Trinity Episcopal on Friday night in search for the 10th win of the season.
