Cape Henry traveled to Norfolk Collegiate for a conference match-up with the Oaks on Thursday night, returning with a 1-3 loss despite a strong opening set. The first set brought a high scoring (affair), needing extra points to find a winner. The Dolphins battled back-and-forth, with the Dolphins pulling ahead 28-26. Leading 1-0 entering the second set, the Dolphins battled but were narrowly beaten by the Oaks, 23-25. Serving errors plagued the Dolphins in the third set as the Dolphins fell by a score of 12-25. In the final set of the night, Cape Henry struggled to rebound from the errors and dropped the frame 16-25. Genevieve Reynolds led the way with seven kills, four blocks, and two aces, while Caroline Cashion and Anna Buba each contributed six kills on the night. Anna led the team with 11 digs, with Morgan Jones and Caroline Estes adding 10 digs apiece. Brynn Earl pitched in for 11 assists, with Kyndl Couch adding seven assists. The Dolphins (0-9) will host the Trojans from Walsingham Academy on Tuesday, October 7 beginning at 6:00 pm.
