The Dolphins hosted the Oaks from Norfolk Collegiate on Thursday night, and despite 29 shots on cage, Cape Henry needed just one goal to defeat the Oaks. Cape Henry controlled all aspects of play throughout the first half, unleashing a relentless attacking pressure on the cage; however, Cape Henry struggled to find the back of the cage for the first 20 minutes of play. With nine minutes remaining in the opening half, the Dolphins were on the board as Olivia Zettervall scored the game’s first with Ali Gordon picking up the assist on the play. The Dolphins carried the 1-0 lead into the second half of play before Ali Gordon scored her first goal within four minutes. With the Dolphins leading 2-0, Olivia Zettervall returned the favor; assisting Ali for her second goal of the night. With 13 minutes left in play, Ali completed the hat trick, scoring her third goal of the night to put the Dolphins ahead 4-0. Amberly Butler and Aleezah Adams combined to complete the shutout and bring the Dolphins overall record to 7-1 and 2-0 in conference play. The Dolphins are back in action Tuesday, October 2 to take on the Trojans from Walsingham Academy.
