Athlete of the Week – Mason Dudley – Week of September 21, 2018

This week’s Athlete of the Week, Mason Dudley, is four games into his Varsity Career with Cape Henry, but in the eyes of Head Coach Dave Brun, Dudley’s form is one of a four-year Varsity Athlete. Dolphins currently boast a 4-0 record behind the exceptional play of the promising sophomore and the rest of the dedicated Varsity Soccer roster.

“Mason was the consensus man of the match on a day where there was plenty of praise to go around. Dudley shined in a decisive 3-0 road win over Woodberry Forest and a rematch of last season’s state quarterfinal game won by CHC on an overtime golden goal,” Head Coach Dave Brun noted.

Through four games, Dudley is currently tied for the top scorer on the roster with three goals. While Mason has already shown a knack for finding the back of the net, his effort, stamina, and attitude on the pitch have him poised for a breakout season for the Dolphins.

“We have been excited about Mason’s game since he was a young player, and we see a young man who embraces the Cape Futbol culture and how we approach the game. His play and character are the perfect compliment to how we want to play and who we are as a team: Quiet, humble, confident, and determined,” Dave Brun finished.

The Dolphins will look for another strong performance from Dudley, as Mason and the Dolphin Varsity Boys Soccer team hosts the rematch of last season’s State Final against St. Christopher’s tonight at 4:30 pm.
