Girls Volleyball – Searching for Momentum

The Dolphins dropped the third straight match on Wednesday night against a talented Salem High School, losing 3-1. In an exciting opening set, the Dolphins remained neck and neck throughout, but ultimately dropping the set 22-25 to the Sun Devils. Entering the second set, Cape Henry limited the unforced errors and earned the victory with a score of 25-21 to bring the total matches won to 1-1. The Dolphins struggled to build on the momentum from the tightly contested opening sets, proceeding to drop the next two sets 13-25 and 12-25 respectively. Genevieve Reynolds demonstrated her versatility with eight kills and five digs on the night, while Morgan Jones’ defense kept the Dolphins afloat with four aces and eight digs. Brynn Earl, serving as the setter for the night, tallied nine assists and one kill. Caroline Cashion pitched in for two kills and two blocks. The Dolphins (0-3) are set to host Norfolk Collegiate for the conference opener at 5:45 pm on Friday night.
