Life After CHC – Alumni Give Credit to Cape Henry
Cape Henry Collegiate provides a safe environment for students to learn and most importantly, prepare them for college. This is proven by the success that Cape Henry alumni are having at their respected universities.
One alumni, in particular, Sebastian Gunbeyi (‘18), is not just excelling in the classroom in his ivy league school, Columbia, but also on the soccer field, where he is getting regular minutes as a freshman. He has appeared in five out of eight games for the Lions, three of which were starts. Sebastian has failed to score his first collegiate goal but has managed to provide an assist. When asked about Cape Henry, Sebastian says that he believes that Cape Henry “does an excellent job preparing kids for college.”
Another successful alumni is Samuel Townsend. Sam currently has all A’s at UVA and believes that Cape Henry is a great part of that. Like Sebastian, he believes it does a great job preparing for their students for college. Sam says that what he misses most about Cape Henry is the “close ties he had between his friends and teachers.”
The next and final alumni we are going to take a look at is Tomas Mariano (‘18). Tomas is doing well to deal with his difficult task of balancing academics and his rigorous schedule on the George Mason tennis team. Although Tomas has not yet made an appearance for the Patriots, he is still working hard every day and believes he will take advantage when his opportunities come.
