The Dolphins traveled to North Carolina on Tuesday night to take on First Flight High School for the second match of the season. The Dolphins returned to Virginia Beach with a 2-0 record after a commanding win in North Carolina. A tightly contested match brought the Dolphin to the half, carrying a 2-1 lead. After an Own Goal by the First Flight defense, Trevor Kidd found Gavin Dooren trailing into the box for the Dolphins’ first goal of the night. Returning to the pitch for the second half, the Dolphins regained momentum and continued to dominate possession throughout the final half of play. Trevor Kidd made the difference in the second half, earning a hat-trick in the final 40 minutes. Carter Atherton found Kidd in the box for the first goal of the second half to bring the score to 3-1 in favor of CHC. Kidd proceeded to score two more in the closing 15 minutes of the night. First Flight picked up the one more score in the second half, but the Dolphin hung on to take the victory, 5-2. Cape Henry (2-0) will host Carlisle on Friday night beginning at 4:30 pm.
