Boys swimming finishes 2nd in the Walsingham meet

The Dolphins took part in the Walsingham Academy swim meet on Saturday at the Fort Eustis Aquatic Center, and numerous top times were turned in for the boys and girls teams. The boys team earned wins over Norfolk Collegiate and NSA and dropped a close outcome to Walsingham while the girls came up short as a team against each opponent. The boys team finished in 2nd place overall thanks to many strong performances. 8th grader Sam Stanton had a big day across numerous events. Sam took 2nd place in both the 100 backstroke (1:03.72) and 50 freestyle (24.75), finishing in a tie with teammate Goerge Bowles, who also posted a 24.75. Stanton and Bowles joined Fauster Vittone and Jack Hagn to earn a 1st place finish in the 200 freestyle relay (1:42.25) while the team of Stanton, Bowles, Hagn and Rex Serpe took 3rd in the 400 freestyle relay (3:57.59). The 200 medley relay team of Clark Berlin, Justin Dubik, Peter Pan and Rex Serpe finished in 3rd place in a time of 2:13.63. Jack Hagn grabbed top three finishes in his remaining two events as well, earning 1st in the 200 freestyle (2:13.06) and 3rd in the 100 butterfly (1:05.09). Fauster Vittone added a 2nd place finish in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall in 2:16.88.
